New Road Rep: Ben Clymer


Ben Clymer comes to us from New York City where he was a freelance musician, music educator in New Jersey, and School Accounts Manager for a large music Company in the New York City area. While in New York, Mr. Clymer performed with the New York City Ballet, New York City Opera, and played for multiple musical companies. Benjamin was also an assistant band director at Northern Valley High School in Old Tappan, New Jersey, Where he taught marching band, and Jazz ensembles. Before his time in New York, Ben lived in Cincinnati where he was a freelance musician that played with many professional ensembles such as; Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Dayton Opera, Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, and Cincinnati Contemporary Jazz Orchestra. In Addition to being a freelance musician Mr. Clymer taught brass methods for University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music. In addition to teaching at University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music, Ben also earned a Masters (MM) and Artist Diploma(AD) from the Conservatory of Music. Before Cincinnati, Ben lived in North Carolina where he was born and raised. He studied Music Education and Music Performance at Mars Hill University. Mr. Clymer was also an Assistant Band Director to Sanford Boone at North Buncombe High School in Weaverville, NC for the 2008-2009 school year. Ben has also studied trombone with members of the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He moved to East Texas early this year to be closer to family and start the next chapter of his musical life at Tatum Music.
